Spike Lee seems to believe Black women are the key determinant in stopping community violence. His new film, Chiraq takes a satirical look at the ongoing violence in Chicago. The Chiraq trailer seems to hint at the idea that if Black women withheld “the cookie,” it could change the way Black men respond to conflict in their lives. I tend to agree with that perspective, but let’s see what Spike Lee’s new film has to say. It hits theaters Friday, December 4th.
Hmmm, interesting concept…if any could actually help, I bet it could very well be the cookie lol!! I’m just not sure what would motivate those young men to show that they care enough about anything but themselves to affect any real change. Ever. Smh.
