It’s the new year and every brown mama who is worth her salt is thinking about upgrading her home space. But, in our households, its seems we have huge ideas and teeny, weeny budgets.
So rather than shoving big ideas into a tight budget why not begin with the end in mind, and think about functionality over design.
Oftentimes we start looking at color swatches and pricing new furniture before we think about how we would like our house to function on a daily basis. When we begin our upgrade journey by mapping out what would make our home easier to live in, we usually end up saving money and gaining major style points. Plus, starting with end results at the forefront gives us a great foundation so that when the time comes to pull out buckets of paint and buy wall art we know exactly what we want. So let’s start our year off right by using these small ideas to upgrade our spaces one corner at a time.
