blog Why Brown Mamas Need to Show Up Big @ Mom Con + A Free Ticket

So me and fellow mom blogger were browsing the web about two months ago when we stumbled upon this interesting event called The Mom Con.  Being the #goodmamas that we are are, we sprang into action.  We both had a million questions.  When did this start?  Why are we just now finding out about it?  And of course, how do we get involved?  Well thanks to our good friends over at Pittsburgh Mommy Blog a path was created!

But, it still left a semi-bad taste in my mouth that there is an event for Pittsburgh moms and none of my brown mamas knew anything about it.  So, as my mom would say, it’s time to make lemons into lemonade.  Brown Mamas let’s show up big at Pittsburgh’s second Mom Con from November 14-16th.  It’s time the world, and the region, got the memo that Brown Mama’s #GoodMamas are here to stay!

Reason #1 :  Because Brown Moms are Into Growth Too

The Mom Con is a great opportunity to find out what is working for other moms, and gain some techniques that can be implemented in your own household.  Just as you never stop learning as an adult, there’s always something you can do to get the most mileage and brightest memories out of your motherhood experience.  The Mom Con Team has put together a great line-up of speakers.  I’ll only speak of the ones I met personally.  Chaton Turner, who blogs at Chaton’s World, is a mommy of two, a kindergartener and a newborn.  This quietly, hilarious mom blogs about her mommyhood journey and work/life balance.  I met Cooper Munroe during Heather Hopson’s (of Diary of a First Time Mom) blogger luncheon last year.  In addition to being a powerhouse business woman, Copper shines in connecting moms to brands at her Aspinwall-based boutique marketing firm, The Motherhood.  That brings me to my next point.

As a brown mama, its easy to forget how important your role as mama is to your family and your bottomline.  Well at Mom Con, you will get to see  that there are moms out there who are making a name for themselves just by being a mom.  You will meet moms who make a career out of cutting coupons, doing art projects with their kids and writing online reviews of the parks in their neighborhoods.  By the time you leave this convention, you will be teaming with new ideas, and hopefully connections, to help you to turn your mommyhood journey into a brand and business.

Reason #3: Other Brown Mamas Will Be There

You won’t be alone when you get there.  Myself (Cindy Mendoza), Tiffany Huff, Heather Hopson and Chaton Turner are sure things at this event.  Hopefully you will attend too.  The Mom Con is currently offering a great deal on tickets!  Enter the code MOMCON5OFF to receive $5 off the $59 ticket.  Or the second option is to get a FREE ticket! Check out the next reason.

Reason #4: Get a Free Ticket

So, thanks to the Mom Con Team, one lucky brown mama will get to join us for FREE at the convention from November 14 – 16th.  YAY!!!  Just enter the rafflecopter giveaway below.  The lucky winner will be announced at Pittsburgh Brown Mamas Mama N’ Me Costume Party on Saturday, October 25th!  I can’t wait to see you there! a Rafflecopter giveaway
