Over the last decade collaboration has been one of the building blocks of the Brown Mamas community. Muffy started out as a mommy blogger in 2013 working with brands like Chick-fil-a, Bolthouse Farms and Walmart to activate her community around the products that were most valuable to them.

Those brand partnerships helped Brown Mamas become known as an organization that not only understands the needs of the Black mothering community, but that could activate them. From those brand activations, Brown Mamas grew deeper roots in the community working with community organizations, philanthropic funds and government entities to help build better ecosystems for Black mothers in Pittsburgh and beyond.

Common Sense Media, the Heinz Endowments, Pittsburgh Foundation, Healthy Start Inc. and other organizations would come to call upon Brown Mamas to help them grow their knowledge and expand their reach in this community.

Today, Brown Mamas is proud to stand at the forefront of a Black mothering ecosystem that is developing in the Pittsburgh region.
