Muffy Mendoza, the powerhouse behind Brown Mamas, recently made waves with her appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
Our founder has been shaping the narrative around Black motherhood, challenging perceptions, and building a vibrant community. With over 7,000 Black moms connected through her organization, she’s a force to be reckoned with. Brown Mamas is not just a community; it’s a movement, offering support, resource connection, and much more to moms of color.
The work that Muffy, her husband and children have done to build and solidify the community over the last decade was the subject of the segment. When asked how cultivating the community had affected their family, husband, Mack Mendoza responded,
“That’s the way we wanted it to be,” he said, “We wanted to blaze a trail and show them that whatever they want in this world, they can do that”

She’s a hero in Pittsburgh, nurturing over 7,000 moms in the region and beyond, and she’s got a heart that beats for the well-being and empowerment of Black mothers.
