At the first appearance of sunny days and budding flowers my husband and I are itching to put some food on the grill. But before, I tell you how I make my burgers the bomb, I have to head to Pittsburgh’s #SummerOfGrilling Headquarters, Giant Eagle, to stock up on everything we need to make our first cookout the kickoff to a great summer of grilling.
First on the list, burgers of course. Giant Eagle has an excellent selection of Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers. Italian, Pepper & Garlic and my favorite Mushroom Swiss, are just a few of the gourmet burgers Giant Eagle’s meat department has to offer. I stopped there first.
Next, I have to get my secret ingredients. I use Hellman’s Mayonnaise, tomato pesto, lemon juice and basil to make a special pesto mayo sauce that gives my gourmet burgers the right kick. (The recipe is down below.) To keep my burgers juicy I grill them with Heniz BBQ sauce that I found right in Giant Eagle’s Summer Grilling kiosk near the meat department.
Finally, cookouts are not complete without cold drinks and cold deserts. We LOVE Breyer’s ice cream at our house. (I’m always sending my hubby out to get Cookies n’ Cream or Ice Cream Cake with Chocolate Crunchies. Both are my favorites) Our household lives off a steady beverage consumption of water; so, I was super excited to see Aquafina Sparkling. The lemon lime is really yummy and not overpowering like soda can be.
After I grill my Mushroom Swiss Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers, I add a special sauce that my husband loves. Here’s the recipe.

That’s it. Now my burger is done, my man is happy and I’ve already started stocking up on the things I know I’ll need for my #SummerOfGrilling.
