One of the best money-saving tips I’ve ever received is to start stretching my household items. I live with 5 vikings boys who eat a lot, make many messes and, with the exception of my husband, none of them are concerned with saving money. But thankfully, I am always searching for money-saving tips to help stretch the money my husband and I earn. Luckily, I always find myself in the presence of older moms and they are always giving me tips on saving money on household items. Here are three priceless money-saving tips that I’ve found.
Money Saving Tip 1: Facial Toner
The main ingredient in most facial toner is witch hazel. I love Murad’s line of skin products, but their facial toner starts at $24 for one bottle. Ain’t nobody got time for that. I employed the money-saving tip of stretching my toner using witch hazel. So for $24, I get two bottles of toner. That cuts my price down to $12 per bottle. I’m the only girl in my house; so, my two bottles of toner last for about 3 months.
Money Saving Tip 2: Milk
My grandmother just recently taught me how to stretch milk. I visit the food bank often and they are always giving away powdered milk. I never used it before and now I feel like a fool. This past week I made one gallon of milk into two gallons of milk by mixing the 2% milk with non-fat powder milk. Considering that my boys are always sneaking bowls of cereal, this is a priceless money-saving tip for my household.
