blog Women Engineers Hold STEM Event for Middle School Girls

  Got girls?  Then you and your daughter need to be at this STEM Event on Saturday, Feb. 18th.  Girls who like STEM will have a ball at the Society of Women Engineer’s Design Lab.  The event will include hands-on STEM activities for girls and a parent workshop that will equip parents with information on getting their daughters admitted to STEM programs in college and financial aid.  Here are the details. SWENext DesignLab Pittsburgh 2017 When: Saturday, February 18, 2017 Where: Omni William Penn Hotel; Pittsburgh, PA Time: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Check-in opens at 1:30) The cost to attend this event is just $7.  Click here to register.  Here are just a few of the things your girls will experience at this STEM event.
  • Work with local SWE members on hands-on engineering activities
  • Meet real engineers and learn what they do
  • Make new friends
  • Get a SWE t-shirt, bag and lots of other goodies
  • Be eligible to win raffle prizes
Parents, guardians, teachers, counselors, administrators and leaders are encouraged to participate in the PEP. The program will run from 2pm – 5pm. Participants are asked to stay for the entire program.  Click here to download an event flyer.
