Making my bed every morning has transformed my morning.  About a month ago I started making my bed every morning just because I needed something to anchor my early risings as I began homeschooling my two younger sons.  What I found out is that foundation is everything! And your home is your foundation.  Here’s the bottom-line my dear brown mamas, sometimes we put the cart before the horse.  We want to get a PhD, but still have not mastered how to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. We want to own our own businesses, but give ourselves a shaky foundation by keeping messy homes and waking up to a cluttered room resulting in a cluttered mind.  We want love, but still haven’t learned how to clean up our place and make ourselves some breakfast with two scrambles eggs and grits (Jill Scott).  One of the things your going to hear me say a lot over the next few months is that,

Motherhood is the course

I always say that you can’t expect a young mother to graduate from college if she is not washing her dishes everyday.  Well, it’s the same for all mothers.  We have to take care of our kids right? We’ve got to have a place we call home also.  We’ve also got to come home to these kids and houses everyday, correct?  So, why do we come home to dungeons.  Why isn’t your bed made every night when you are so deserving after the countless hours you’ve worked?  And yes, YOU HAVE TIME!  It takes two minutes or less to straighten out your bed and fluff your pillows.  It only takes me 10 minutes, at most, to put away clothes from getting dressed, tidy my dresser top and make my bed every morning. The universe is activated by FAITH + ACTION.  When you act in a way that is pleasing to God, the floodgates are open.  The world gets out of your way by the Creators command. Order your steps and make your home the foundational playground that will lead to your spiritual, emotional, intellectual and career success.  You’ve got this mamas because (as Jay-Z said) you’re already home!

Absolutely! Making my bed gives me a worry-free space to end my day. Thanks for commenting!

Nice. Complete the circle, you start and end your day in your bed so that should be in order if nothing else.
